Life from the Middle

My wife thought she had a mouse around her desk a few days ago. Then on Wednesday morning, she saw the mouse on the fireplace. I got out of bed and tried to knock the mouse down for Snowball to chase, which I did, and which he did until the kids scared the cat, at which time the mouse ran down the register vent, or so I thought. Then on Thursday morning, again she saw the mouse back on the fireplace,and again I got out of bed. This time the mouse ran into a table top water fountain that we have setting on the fireplace. The fountain is not in use. The mouse ran into the fountain, where I could not get at him, so I sprayed some “canned air” into the fountain and he jumped out and fell to the floor. Snowball saw this and began chase, until the mouse ran behind a bunch of “stuff” my wife has piled around her end of the table. So she started to move out stuff, at which time I saw the mouse. My wife at first did not believe me, until “A” saw it too. Upon hearing this my wife began to shriek and my daughter upon hearing this began to laugh, meanwhile the mouse ran back up on the fireplace and back into the fountain again. This time, I turned the “canned air”, upside down and more or less froze the mouse solid and disposed of it in the trash. By this time I think my daughter had finally regained herself from laughing at her mother.

As of this time (11:19pm) we have gotten a little over 3″ of snow. Not sure how much more we are supposed to get. I start back to work tomorrow in my new position. Should be a lot less stressful. Right now I can’t think of much else going on.
