On Sunday I took, or should I say, I was “told” I was going to take “A” to the father and daughter dance by the Burlington Junior Women’s League. When “A” asked to go, I told her I would put in for a vacation day at work so I could go. But at the time I really did not feel like going, but I put in for the day off anyway. Well to my luck, I thought at the time, I was denied the day off. So I told “A” I could not get the day off. I think she could tell that I really didn’t want to go, because when I told her she said she really didn’t want to go anymore anyway. When I went back to work after my days off, I had a notice in my mail slot at work that something had changed and I was approved for the day off after all. When I came home and told her I could go she was all excited and planning on it all week. So on Sunday we went. She had a really great time and I got a big thrill out of watching her have fun. She made me several crafts and we danced a few times and had fun. They had a silent auction and I placed a bid on a giant stuffed teddy bear. We ended up winning the bear. “A” was all ecstatic about ti. After the dance we went and picked up Uncle “B” for his lunch break and went to Gators for lunch. At Gators “A” got to see “Wally”, their live alligator mascot. She got a thrill out of seeing him. All in all , it was a great day and I am really glad I went, as I had fun too.
The way the events turned out, it we affirms my belief in GOD, and the fact that everything happens for a reason we may not always understand at the moment. But GOD does have a plan for us.
