I just heard on the radio that the average cost to operate a vehicle is now up to 54¢ a mile. The increase is due mainly to, you guessed it, gas prices. Imagine that! Harley Davidson’s profits are down 13% and they have laid off 8% of their workforce, the most they have had to downsize by in over 20 years. Still think we are not in a recession? I don’t. I know we are in a recession. Bush has screwed up this country so bad, I wonder how long it will take for us to recover. I just hope he doesn’t do anymore damage before he is out. I did my R.I.S. audio cast this morning and at that time, Wednesday’s reported gas price for regular at Kum & Go in Burlington was $3.25 a gallon, today, Thursday’s reported price is $3.38 a gallon a one day increase of 12¢ a gallon! It is no wonder people can’t pay their bills, there just simply is no money after paying for gas to go to work to make enough money to buy the necessities of food, utilities, insurance and mortgage/rent payments, and some can’t even afford that!
One important thing to remember is that there is family and GOD, and things will get better. Things all happen for a reason, some we might not understand….yet.
