Saw on Google News that two more banks have failed. One in California and a big one in Texas. Scary stuff going on. Other than that not much else going on, and I haven’t really checked either. Just don’t feel like it right now, kind of in a somber mood today. Cold & windy out and gloomy. Just going to sit back and play a video game and then tomorrow I start my prep kit for my colonoscopy on Monday, so I will be tied to the computer and the bathroom, so I’ll have a few more post up tomorrow and possibly the audio portion too. Till then stay warm and cozy.

Wow! What a change in the weather from the past few days. Rain came in this morning and brought with it the cold and the wind. Reminds me of “Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day”, and that is exactly what it is outside, blustery. Supposed to turn off colder and change of light snow mix tomorrow (Friday).
Not much in the news today with the exception of a local high school coach got charged with OWI 2nd time and had a 17 year old high school girl in the car with him. Apparently she snuck out of her house to meet with him, according to the paper her parents aren’t going to press charges. Makes one ponder the question, why? Must be more going on than meets the eye or at least hits the papers. As usual I’m sure more will come out in the days ahead. What is going on with the younger teachers of today and the priest? Has all of this sort been going on for years and people just shut their eyes and ears to it, or is it a new insurgence? Growing up, I don’t ever remember hearing any gossip or rumors about anything like what is going on today, and that is just what makes the news. What about all that is going on that doesn’t make the news? Make one wonder, what is the world coming to?

Going Linux is a great linux netcast with host Tom and Larry at http://www.goinglinux.com
Just spotted this article on Google news and on the BBC, that Russia said if will take the United States and NATO’s proposed missile defense in Europe as a threat and will place it’s own missiles in the Baltic as a response. Sounds like the cold war is starting up all over. I figured Bush would try to get us involved in something before he leaves office and he still has two months left to do it. So hang on to your butts! Here is the article from the BBC and on Google News.

Just took a walk around the property with Macy dog and noticed that the number of leaves has tripled in the last few days. Most of my trees are bare, with the exception of my oaks which are holding on to their leaves, until today. All this makes me think that the forecast might be true. It is 73′F outside right now, but come Friday the high is supposed to be only in the 40’s at best and there is a forecast of snow in the future. I did manage to get the above ground pool closed for the season, but still have to put away the lawn mowers and blow dry the garden hoses. I also need to blow the leaves free of the patio and the boat and cover the boat. All will have to wait until the rain that is to come tonight and tomorrow has passed and after I have my colonoscopy done come Monday. That should be fun (sarcasm)!
I am still not getting adjusted to the time change, when it starts getting dark around 4 O’clock in the afternoon it makes me thnk it should be closer to 6 or so. I wish they (the government) would set the clocks on one standard or the other and leave it there all year long. What a pain in the ass to have to change the clocks all of the time! Well time for me to finish working on a DVD for my brother in-law, so until later.

I think last night showed the Republicans that in general the public is tired of how things have been run. Barrack Obama was elected to be the next President of the United States, making history last night for being the first colored American to be elected to that office. I just hope that he now lives up to what was said during his campaign. I along with many others was leaning towards voting for McCain in the beginning until he made his choice for a running mate and after that my vote swung to Obama. I have heard the same comment from several other people, which in my mind, I have no doubt McCain could have won it, if he had picked a different running mate. Now we shall see if McCain has any health problems in the next four years and if whether there are any more attempts aimed towards Obama. I don’t wish either to come, but time will tell. /mlm
